A week in Scotland

For some time now I have avoided writing anything new, it being much more exciting sorting out other writers manuscripts. unfortunately some readers and members of my family have not been happy about this to the point where I was nagged live on air by my so called 'friends' Chris and Bob, thanks a bunch chaps! The husband heard, a bit of a shock as he never listens to the radio, and the next day booked me a cottage in the wet and wooly wilds of Scotland for that Saturday.
Well I went clutching my hated laptop and sat surrounded by damp trees in the middle of nowhere and a story I'd been toying with leapt out and had to be written. Its very dark, quite funny in a sad macabre way about a publisher who resorts to bumping off her writers as a way of increasing book sales. There are book festivals, ancient murders, daft characters and a truly wicked Uncle and none of it could possibly ever happen unless of course it already has?
I enjoyed writing it and most of it I made up. It will also offend quite a few people and isn't set on the Isle of man but in a small village somewhere on the borders. Anyway after much thought I've realised that, apart from the odd reprint, publishing my own books is now not really feasible so this latest will be sent off to an agent and various publishers to see if anyone else likes it as much as I do. I can hear you all muttering 'well good luck with that one!'.
And now it's back to the grind stone and Steve Westcott's new book 'Of Light and Shadows'.
happy writing.
