The Corsican Trap by Linda Mann...
Russell Gillings-Cooper is not a happy Theatre Manager for two very good reasons; not only does he have to deal with yet another amateur production of Noel Coward's improbable farce, 'Blithe Spirit' but the powers that be have dictated that the theatre be inspected by reality television's foremost ghost-hunter, Lou Sphinx. Not suprisingly the theatre ghosts are up in arms; someone is dressing up as the Phantom of the Opera and stealing anything not nailed to the floor and the plumbers have discovered a broken body behind the boiler.
Can Detective Inspector Brian Clague discover the culprit before the curtain goes up on the first night?
Can ex-detective Bob Callow protect his first client Lou Sphinx from joining the increasing ranks of the recently deceased before he can submit his first invoice? Can Mannanan Mac Lir (minor deity third class - failed) make it as a civil servant working for the Department of Tourism and will Tavistock Allan actually manage to finish her next book without having to help out all of the above, including her husband Richard, who is attempting to direct and produce the aforementioned play?

A selection of quotes from critics and readers regarding The Corsican Trap...
"A rollicking tale which brings together many of the characters from her previous books - Mist and The Tidemaster. Full of Thespian frailties and almost slapstick humour it's a fun read."
Manx Tails May 2007
"A cross between Wodehouse, Dick Francis and Ben Elton a very funny book"
